A Personal Update

Hi there –

I have some exciting news to share with you—news that I am confident will have a positive impact on the community of Sioux Falls. One of the world’s leading professional development organizations has offered me the opportunity to provide industry-leading training solutions to South Dakota business owners, leaders and professionals.

I am pleased to announce that I have joined Dale Carnegie Training of North Central US, the top-producing team of Dale Carnegie Training in North America, as a business consultant. In this role, I will be helping area leaders transform their organizations by identifying and addressing barriers to their success.

While this transition is exciting, it will mean that I have to limit the amount of time that I can put into The Bakery. The Bakery is very near and dear to my heart and it has literally been my life for the last two years. In order to make sure that The Bakery continues to grow and thrive, The Bakery has brought on Aaron Hultgren, a respected entrepreneur and a personal friend of mine, to come on assist in the leadership efforts of The Bakery. I will personally continue to cheer on The Bakery from the sidelines and provide oversight and advice as a member of its new Board of Advisors.

Dale Carnegie Training is a very natural fit for my passion and desire to help others succeed. When I first launched my website design company several years ago, a mentor of mine gave me this advice: “Always remember that you’re not in the website design business – you’re in the people business, you just happen to offer websites.” I picked up a copy of Dale Carnegie’s How to Win Friends and Influence People and I have been working in the people business ever since.

I am extremely proud of the work that Clint Brown, our team and I have done at The Bakery. Two years ago, we had a crazy idea of seeing if we could help grow 150 businesses in the Sioux Falls area. Since then, we have helped more than 600 businesses. We have also fostered an entrepreneurial community of hundreds of entrepreneurs that simply did not exist before The Bakery came into being. It is with a sad heart that I choose to step away from day-to-day operations at The Bakery, but I am confident that it will continue to thrive and provide an invaluable service to our community under the leadership of Clint Brown and Aaron Hultgren.

Dale Carnegie Training has worked with more than 400 Fortune 500 companies, created custom training solutions in more than 80 countries and has delivered training in 38 languages. I look forward to leveraging the decades of experience that Dale Carnegie has to offer to help South Dakota organizations grow and thrive.

My personal and professional journey will continue to be chronicled on my personal blog at brianrand.com. Thank you for your continued support. If there is any way I can assist with your own journey, I would love to do so.
